Each Australian capital has a festival, while the major cities hold more. Each year, the Sydney festival is held which offers a diverse variety of art forms such as dance, music, and theatre. For several weeks in January and February, the Sydney festival hosts close to eighty events with over five hundred artists who have traveled to the festival.

Another festival held in Australia every February is the National Multicultural Festival. This festival, which is held over a span of two weeks, offers the very best in local and national music, art, food, and theatre. Anyone looking to expand their knowledge of the diversity of our world, should visit this festival. And yet another festival that can be enjoyed by many is the Perth International Arts Festival. This Festival is held every February and is southwestern Australia’s main cultural event.

Every July, the Brisbane festival is held in Brisbane. This festival is the foremost international art festival that offers art, theatre, music, and opera. In August, the Darwin Festival celebrates the city’s unique qualities and offers a celebration of the warm climate and youthful energy of the area. This particular festival includes a diverse cultural program and festivities. And as with most countries, the Chinese New Year is held every February. It is the most important festival in Chinese history. During this festival, people wear red clothes and light lanterns when the moon is full.
