Pool is a social media project developed by ABC Radio National. It's a place to share your creative work with the Pool community and ABC producers - upload music, photos, videos, documentaries, interviews, animations and more. It's a collaborative space where audiences become makers.

Founded in 2002, STRUT is located in the King Street Arts Centre, in the centre of Perth. STRUT dance offers support to independent Western Australian dance artists so that they can create and produce their own work. The flexibility of artistic direction and breadth of membership allows STRUT to support emerging and established artists who work across a range of contemporary dance practices.

FORM is an independent cultural organisation which works to enhance Western Australia's competitiveness and creativity through creative, cultural and social capacity building projects. Guided by the principle of Creative Capital, FORM develops and manages projects across four program areas that aim to stimulate creative, sustainable and connected communities. FORM's program areas are: Regional Development; Indigenous Development (especially Kimberley and Pilbara regions); Place Activation (urban clusters); and Industry Development (encompassing the creative industries development at Midland - Atelier).

Screen Australia

July 2008

Screen Australia is the Commonwealth Government's new screen agency replacing the Australian Film commission, Film Australia and the Film Finance Corporation. This new organisation has come to fruition out of the necessity for focus on ensuring a strong voice across Australian film, television, documentary and children's programs. Screen Australia provides support to Australian film, television, documentary and digital media makers and aims to put the industry on a new growth path.

Artistcareer is an independent, non-commercial website whose goal is to offer high quality resources and information to support artists' professional and business skills development.

Culture Victoria (CV) is a collaborative partnership that uses broadband to deliver media-rich experiences of collections, culture and communities. With a wealth of previously unseen digitised material, CV provides access to collections, including the ability to research material from across the network, behind-the-scenes insights from experts such as curators and artists, and a listing of over 700 of Victoria's collecting organisations.

ABC Indigenous

June 2008

ABC Indigenous is the ABC's new portal for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The Indigenous portal replaces and upgrades the pre-existing Message Stick gateway. It was developed in consultation with the ABC's Indigenous Programs Unit and with members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

The North Head Quarantine Station is a large historic site within the Sydney Harbour National Park, near Manly. North Head has long been a meeting place for the Garrigal people. At a beach close to the former Quarantine Station, there was an early incidence of the stealing of Aboriginal women and subsequent spearing of Governor Phillip. From the 1830s to 1984 migrant ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious disease stopped inside North Head and off-loaded their passengers and crew into quarantine to protect local residents from becoming sick. In some instances, Sydney residents suspected of contagious disease were removed from their homes and quarantined with the immigrants.

Crawl - news for artist run initiatives

Crawl is an online news resource for Artist Run Initiatives around Australia. Also referred to as ARIs, an Artist Run Initiative is an organisation established by artists for the purpose of providing an environment to produce and present new art. Typically run by young emerging artists, ARIs are a constant source of the most interesting and compelling contemporary art being produced.

The Australia Council for the Arts has a new website. In 2006-07, the Australia Council provided $156 million in total funding through 1,799 grants, projects and initiatives to artists and arts organisations. This funding supported the creation of 4,476 new artistic works, the presentation of 3,636 new artistic works and 9.3 million attendances at arts events.
