| Description |
AWBR is the only Australian review of women's books. AWBR reviews current writing by women, mainly in Australia: fiction, poetry, history, health, sexuality, social and cultural issues, children's and adolescent fiction. AWBR aims to provide women throughout Australia, urban and rural, outside and within the universities, with current information on small-press publications and books which are often seen as of only academic or specialist interest. Reviews also offer specialist woman-centred and feminist perspectives on books that have attracted more generalist reviews in the mainstream. Feature articles and reviews collect a series of readings around topics that are attracting discussion and/or influencing women's lives. Some short prose and poetry is published on themes consistent with ABWR's woman-centred/feminist focus. |
